The drive from Mount Surprise to Croydon was very beautiful but somewhat scary! The roads were very narrow and with road trains coming in your direction you just hold your breath!

Croydon is a cute little town and really
looked after by the council and locals. The town has a historic precinct which we walked through. You follow a trail around the town and discover the beautiful buildings and read it's history. The historic precinct depicted an old homestead, a goal and courthouse. Some of the light poles on the street were still original from the early 1900's. Croydon also boasts the oldest shop in Australia, although the merchandise is up with the times, as the boys purchased a loom band kit! We went to the local pub for
dinner one night and enjoyed the country hospitality and watched a bit of AFL.
Our next stop is Karumba!
